Operations are continuing as best they can in the midst of the post flood clean up. The site still has no power/telephone/systems links making communication difficult. The office internals need to be totally rebuilt because of flood damage, (a temporary portable office has been set up on site) while the warehouse needs an intensive thorough clean out. Brisbane/Gold Coast deliveries are continuing (temporarily at one run per day). Regional runs are being done where possible. The Brisbane office phones have been redirected to Sydney temporarily – QLD staff can be contacted on Reps mobile phones if necessary.
Obviously because of our unforeseen predicament, and the difficulties our staff are currently experiencing, we hope you will bear with us during these abnormal circumstances. Our QLD office hopes to get on top of this as soon as possible, and return to providing its normal high level of customer service without delay.
An update from YHI Queensland: The office and warehouse is currently out of action and will take some time to sort out as it sustained major damage. However, limited operations have resumed with a single daily delivery to metro and Gold Coast. Some regional deliveries will resume next week. Note that operations are limited and are largely being run via mobile at this time.
The floodwater at the YHI Queensland branch in Brisbane peaked at the office roofline at about 10:30am. By 4pm this afternoon the water level had dropped by about a metre. Sol and the Brisbane crew will try and get access in to the warehouse tomorrow to assess the damage. Once they get in to have a look they'll be able to work out how long it'll be before the office and warehouse reopens. You can see updated photo's here that show the full extent of the flooding.
As our Queensland YHI customers are probably already aware the office and warehouse is currently closed due to the unprecedented and catastrophic flooding. All business from the branch has been suspended until further notice. We'll post updates here on wheeldemon as we get news from Sol and the team in Brisbane. As the photo's in the gallery here show, the water continues to rise at an alarming rate...

Wheel and tyre supplier YHI Australia will be doing their stocktake this Friday 26th November. Orders for delivery Friday morning must be placed by 3:30pm EST on Thursday 25th November. There will be no further deliveries or pick ups until the following Monday. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your local YHI branch for further information.
